New clothing line "Kharakternyk"

We present to you a new clothing series that leans into the spirit of our ancestors from the 17th century. The line is called "Kharakternyk" and consists of:

— Herts series pants;
— pants with kneepads;
— spring-summer thermal underwear;
— ubax;
— tunic;
— accessories such as hats, gloves, buffs.

Who are kharakternyky?

Kharakternyky were Cossacks who, in addition to extraordinary physical strength, were distinguished by considerable knowledge and the ability to predict the future and heal wounded comrades. The most famous kharakternyk is considered to be Cossack Mamai - an idealized image of a wandering Cossack, warrior, sage, and storyteller. Among real figures, almost all Cossack hetmans, koshovi otamans, and famous colonels were considered kharakternyky. For example, Samiylo Kishka, Severyn Nalyvaiko, Petro Sahaidachnyi, Maksym Kryvonis, Ivan Bohun, Danylo Nechai, and Ivan Sirko.

Kharakternyky were part of the Plastuns detachments – a kind of Cossack special unit. Memories of the Polish historian Bartosz Paprocki (1540–1614) have reached our time, stating that such Cossacks possessed magical abilities: they enchanted bullets or collected them from themselves with their hands and threw them back at enemies. And those hit by such enchanted bullets died immediately.

Why is the new series named "Kharakternyk"?

For campaigns and battles, kharakternyky chose the most comfortable clothing. The items were light and did not restrict movement, which allowed for long marches both on foot and on horseback. Skillfully selected attire was a guarantee of a won battle and preserved life. In addition, the clothes had to be strong enough to withstand battle and not tear from extreme riding.

Among the clothes of the "Kharakternyk" series, you will first see pants. They feature a refreshed design and a revised approach to pocket placement and tailoring. In particular, the back pockets will be designed so that their contents do not press or interfere during movement and rest. Other pockets have updated functionality for use with a phone, or for dumping ammunition.
